LNG, import to continental Europe record highs for 6 years
In May 4.13 bn m3 regasified (+12% vs. a year ago)
The import of LNG to continental Europe keeps growing and in May it hit the record high of the last six years. Based on the data of S&P Global Platts Analytics, last month LNG regasified in Belgium, France, Italy, Holland, Poland, Portugal and Spain actually amounted to 4.135 bn m3 of gas equivalent, which was 23% more compared to April and 12% more vs. a year ago.
It is been the highest level since January 2012.
S&P Global Platts Analytics points out that also LNG regasified in the seven European countries in the first five months of 2018, also hit a record high of slightly more than 16 bn m3.
