EU funds, €500 m for energy infrastructure
The second 2018 CEF tender to begin. Applications by October 11.
The European Commission launched the second 2018 call for proposals within the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) dedicated to energy, which can count for a subsidy of 500 million euros.
The invitation for proposals published in the Official Journal on Monday, sets October 11, 2018 as the deadline to submit projects. The received proposals will be assessed between November and December so that the qualified projects and the financing agreements could be singed in February 2019.
A message of the EU’s executive branch reminds that the CEF funds can be granted only to the initiatives qualified as Projects of Common Interest (PCI).
So far CEF has allocated 2.6 billion euros: €647 m to 34 projects in 2014, €336 m to 35 projects in 2015, €707 m to 27 projects in 2016 and €873 m to 17 projects in 2017. The 2018 call for proposals closed in April allocated €200 m.
