Carrefour, 400 biomethane-powered trucks by 2018

Agreement with Air liquide and Planète Végétal for “circular economy model”

20180711_2.jpgTo fuel 400 trucks with biomethane by the end of 2018. This is the goal of Carrefour, which for this purpose last year announced a partnership agreement with Air liquide and Planète Végétal, first independent carrots producer.
A message explains that the French hypermarket will adopt the circular economy model. Planète Végétal will actually host on its site in Pot au Pin a biomethane production plant, connected directly with a bio-GNV refueling station operated by Liquide and located 3 km away. Carrefour will there refuel its trucks in service in the region of Bordeaux.
The use of biomethane will allow the heavy vehicles of Carrefour to reduce to zero the emissions of particulate matter and by 75 % those of CO2, underlines the message.
