District heating/district cooling, new UNI standard
Procedures for measurement of heat output as well as entry and exit temperatures of heat
The draft of UNI 1603430, relevant for the Italian Thermo-technical Committee (Comitato Termotecnico Italiano, CTI), defines the procedures of measurement of heat output as well as entry and exit temperatures of heat exchangers of plants connected to district heating/cooling networks.
The document, entitled “On site measurements - Heat generators - Part 4: District heating and district cooling plants,” supplies also the methods of measurement of other parameters concerning the correct installation and management of the heat exchange substation and for completing the test report. It applies to all installations connected to district heating/cooling networks destined to air conditioning of buildings and/or producing hot water for domestic purposes.
The proposed methodology, explains a message, “is of qualitative character as on site are possible only analyses/controls of some parameters that enable us to check if the device works correctly.”
The draft is under public examination until January 14, 2019.
