Milan, new incentives for clean cars
Up to now the Municipality has allocated €32 m for the replacement of polluting vehicles
and for the efficiency
The Municipality of Milan has published online a new call for financing intended for the families that wish to replace their polluting cars with low-environmental impact vehicles.
The incentives, worth a total of 1 million euros, can be used for replacing diesel cars of standard Euro 0-4, gasoline Euro 0-1 and two-stroke motorcycles and mopeds of standard Euro 0-1, as long as they owners are families residing in Milan and a yearly income of 28,000 euros expressed by an equivalent financial situation, aged over 65, and an income of 25,000 euro if aged under 65.
As the polluting vehicles shall be gradually banned from accessing the city upon entering into force of the Restricted Driving Zone “Area B,” the beneficiaries of financing will have to purchase a new or zero-km passenger car with one of the following power feeding: methane, hybrid gasoline/methane, LPG, hybrid gasoline, electric, or electric.
All the incentives are paid only once per household and the amount will be 50% of the total cost of the new vehicle, up to a maximum of 4,000 euros. The purchases eligible for financing must be made until December 31, 2019, while the aid will be paid until the funding has been exhausted.
To date, the total of incentives that the Municipality of Milan has allocated for scrapping of the polluting vehicles or energy efficiency of private buildings is 32 million euros for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019.
