Innovative startups exceed 10,000
MoED, Unioncamere and InfoCamere published their quarterly report
In the first quarter of the year, the Italian innovative startups exceeded 10,000 for the first time, reaching 10,075 as at March 31, 2019. These are the findings of the quarterly report of the MoED, Unioncamere and InfoCamere, according to which currently the startups account for 3% of all the recently established companies in Italy and involve more than 55,000 partners and employees.
The report shows that the startups are usually young companies in a double meaning: besides being set up less than 5 years ago (as required by law), they have at least one partner under 35 years old in 42.9% of the cases, which is much more than 33.7% marked by all newly established “ non-innovative” companies.
Last but not least, the average age of 178 innovative startups, which as of March 31, 2019 report a turnover of more than1 million euros, is of only 3 years and 11 months.
