“ Italy has applied for the hosting of the global conference COP 26 on the climate change and environmental protection worldwide.” On Friday, Minister of the Environment, Sergio Costa, announced this, specifying that “as acknowledgement of the city, I believe Milan can be the right choice to host the event.”
President of the Region of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana, “positively” commented the statement of the Minister of the Environment on Milan’s application for hosting the COP 26, scheduled for 2020. “ Milan's application will rightly represent Italy,” affirmed Fontana, reminding that “also the Regional Council have unanimously supported it and in the recent months the Regional authorities have focused on underscoring the importance of this candidature.”
“Therefore, concluded Fontana, Lombardy strongly backs up the initiative.”
