Snam Rete Gas at WEC Technology for sustainable development
A 75% reduction in emissions of nitrogen oxides from its compressor stations by 2015 and the use of the most advanced trenchless technologies in laying pipelines: these are the commitments that Snam Rete Gas will be bringing to the 20th World Energy Congress in Rome, to be held on 11-15 November.
In keeping with its mission to create value while respecting the principles of sustainable development, Snam Rete Gas will convert over 94% of the installed power in its compressor stations to low-emission technology in eight years—one of the best environmental results among the principal European gas transport companies.
The use of increasingly sophisticated trenchless technologies enables Snam Rete Gas to carry out minimally invasive excavations to lay pipelines underground, in situations where this is necessary, thus availing of advanced technology to preserve the environment.
And inside the Eni stand, visitors to the WEC exhibition can attend a showing of two new Snam Rete Gas films about these technologies, demonstrating the importance of sustainability objectives in the company’s development model.
Two interactive stations are available for public use, to connect to the remote diagnostic system for the gas turbines in the compressor stations.
