Snam at the top of the Integrated Governance Index 2018

Snam confirms its position at the top of the Italian integrated governance ranking, holding the second place in the latest edition of the Integrated Governance Index organized by ETicaNews and Top Legal, supported by numerous industry associations.

Snam CEO Marco Alverà commented: “This result demonstrates our commitment to transparency, business ethics, and sustainability (not only environmental), and it shows how we listen and actively involve the communities in which we operate, confirming once again our corporate governance system’s best practice. The integration of sustainability into our business model is a founding principle of Snam’s governance and growth strategy. It is proving to be a competitive advantage to attract talent and investors and is strengthening our relations with the areas in which we operate”.

Integrated governance follows a recent evolution of governance practices, processes and culture with the aim of taking into account all ESG factors (Environmental Social-Governance) and all forms of value creation, i.e. the six assets of a company - financial, manufacture, social and relationship, natural, human, intellectual - while developing long-term strategies. This is the most innovative challenge for everyone in charge of corporate governance, for investors and for stakeholders. It is also increasingly relevant following recent regulations on transparency and accountability (in particular, the Directive 2014/95 on obligation to report non-financial information, implemented in Italy by the legislative decree 254).

Snam will participate as one of the "best in class" companies at the presentation of the Integrated Governance Index’s results, scheduled for Tuesday 19th June at Palazzo Turati (Milan), with attendees including Andaf, Consob, Assogestioni, Assonime and Assofondipensione.
