Environmental education, the first “Village” in Rome
Minister Costa: “In the process of introducing the national day”
On Friday, numerous students of Rome took part in the first “Environmental Education Village” located at Campidoglio square. The event was an initiative promoted by the Ministry of the Environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Rome.
The square hosted six stands dedicated to biodiversity, the sea and the climate change, managed with the support of the Carabinieri Command of Units for Forestry Environmental and Agri-Food Protection , the Coast Guard, the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), environmental organizations such as WWF, Legambiente, LIPU, LAV, Marevivo, some national parks and non-profit organizations.
The initiative was also endorsed by TV presenter Licia Colò and Vice President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and Olympic medalist in windsurfing Alessandra Sensini.
Minister of the Environment, Sergio Costa, took the opportunity to inform about the organization an environmental education day and that next year the Ministry will finance a call for school project proposals.
