Seven billion for investments in technological innovation, research and development

The decree implementing the Transition 4.0 Plan has been registered by the Court of Auditors.
The decree, signed by Minister of Economic Development Stefano Patuanelli, regulates the new issues introduced in the Budget Law 2020 to “encourage and support the competitiveness of Italian companies and enhance the Made in Italy.”
The goal of the Plan – underlines a message from the MoED – is to launch “a new industrial policy in the country that is able to sustain a rapid recovery of the economy after the Coronavirus emergency.”
With “the Plan, 7 billion euros worth of resources will be mobilized for companies that will focus more on innovation, green investments, research and development, design activities and 4.0 training.”
The decree also defines the implementation methods of the new tax credit for the period after December 31, 2019 and details the technical criteria for the classification of various innovative activities. There have also been identified the criteria “for the determination and the temporary allocation of eligible expenses and for documentary charges.”
