Milan candidate to host the Unified Patent Court

The Presidency of the Council has chosen Turin as the main office for the Italian Institute for Artificial Intelligence (I3A), the network that will coordinate research activities in this field and will constitute one of the key elements of the strategy defined by the MoED. The Chigi Palace announced this on Thursday, specifying that the Institute will be “a research and technology transfer structure capable of attracting talents from the international market and, at the same time, becoming a reference point for the development of artificial intelligence in Italy, in connection with the main technological trends (including 5G, Industry 4.0, Cybersecurity).”
The sectors mainly involved will be manufacturing and robotics, IoT, healthcare, mobility, agrifoood and energy, public administration, culture and digital humanities, aerospace.
The Prime Minister has in turn identified Milan as a candidate city to host the third headquarters of the Unified Patent Court. The choice, explains a message, “is a strategic decision, towards a further Italian contribution to the development and growth of the European Union.” The capital city of Lombardy, alongside Paris and Monaco, would get the task of recording the new discoveries and solutions conceived in the field of human sciences and pharmaceuticals.
