Environment, Joint Conference approves the decree on urban forests
30 million available in the two-year period of 2020-2021 for projects in metropolitan cities
The decree implementing the “Climate Act” which regulates the methods for planning actions and
allocating resources for funding the experimental program for the creation of urban forests in
metropolitan cities has been approved by the Joint Conference.
The funding foreseen for the two-year period of 2020-2021, underlines a message from the Ministry of the Environment, amounts to €15 million for each year “and will be allocated to metropolitan areas, taking into account the air quality levels of the areas subject to EU infringement procedures.”
There is a maximum funding limit for each project presented by metropolitan cities, equal to €500,000 and among the eligibility requirements of the projects presented there is a commitment to ensure a maintenance plan for a period of at least 7 years.
