International LNG Forum in Genoa
Debates and discussions on the opportunities for Liguria
The city of Genoa hosts two days of debates and exchange of ideas dedicated to the development
of the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The event focuses especially on the logistical
opportunities related to the transport of fuel for the port system of Genoa and Liguria.
The appointment entitled “LNG in the Euro-Mediterranean corridor and the role of the
logistics system of Genoa and Liguria” is scheduled for November 19 and 20, and is promoted by the
Metropolitan City of Genoa and the Liguria Region with the planning and organizational support of
LNG Conference and under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs.
The conference was organized to take stock of the situation “on the prospects and challenges
of the maritime transport sector and the role of Genoa as a hub with a European profile,” reads a
message. The Upper Tyrrhenian Sea and the transport and connections system of Genoa and Liguria
actually represent “a viable and efficient corridor for relations between the Mediterranean and
Central-Northern Europe to achieve the targets responding to the global climate change and for the
safety of energy supplies.”
