Green and digital transitions, the EU Commission proposes 10 partnerships

Financing worth € 10 billion. Room also for green hydrogen

The EU Commission has proposed establishing 10 new partnerships between the Union, the Member States and industry. “The goal is to accelerate the transition to a green, climate-neutral and digital Europe as well as improve the resilience and competitiveness of European industry.”
Brussels will disburse almost € 10 billion worth of funding “and the partners will make available at least an equivalent amount of investment.”
The proposed institutionalized European partnerships aim, among others, to develop efficient low-carbon aircraft for clean aviation, support the use of renewable bio-based raw materials in energy production, ensure European leadership in technologies and infrastructure and increase the competitiveness of rail transport. As regards “clean” hydrogen, the Commission specifies that the partnership will accelerate the development and implementation of a European value chain, contributing to sustainable, decarbonized and fully integrated energy systems.
