Funds for € 2.2 billion to strategic industry sectors

Target 40 new projects in the automotive, semiconductor, electromechanics, agri-industry and environmental protection sectors

The Ministry of Economic Development has allocated about 2.2 billion euros to support the competitiveness of strategic industry supply chains of the country, which is among the priorities indicated in the NRRP.
The goal is to realize at least 40 new investment projects across the country through the Development Contracts facility aimed at the following sectors: automotive, microelectronics and semiconductors, metal and electromechanics, chemical-pharmaceutical, tourism, design, fashion and furniture, agri-industry and environmental protection.
The MoED has ordered that the financial endowment of the Development Contracts, €450 million allocated under the Budget Law 2022, is further complemented with the resources provided for by the NRRP. In particular, €750 million are available for investment projects related to digitization, innovation and competitiveness of the supply chains of made in Italy and €1 billion to strengthen investment, including research and innovation, in the main sectors of the ecological transition.
The Development Contracts facility has been redesigned with to make it easier to implement investment projects that favor the reindustrialization and enhancement of our industrial heritage, encouraging research and technology transfer programs that are key to winning the challenge of digital and green transition,” said Minister of Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti.
