Upgrading work on the Enna pumping plant
The upgrading work on the Enna pumping plant, started in March 2011, continues.
The purpose of the upgrade is to meet the greater need for the transport of gas imported from North Africa.
The project consists in installing two new compressor units (TC-5/6) with a capacity of 25 MW each in place of the two obsolete units (TC-1/2) to be dismantled at the end of the works and in modifying the TC-3 unit to reduce its atmospheric emissions.
The two new TC 5/6 units will be put into operation by the end of September 2013 while the modification of the existing TC 3 unit will be completed by 2014. The building works will be completed by 2015.
The activities will be compliant with the “Environmental Management System? for compressor plants, which conforms to the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard.
