Snam CEO Carlo Malacarne awarded the Infrastructure Development Award 2014

Infrastructure Development Award Rome, 2 December 2014 – Snam CEO Carlo Malacarne received today the 2014 Infrastructure Development Award. The award ceremony has been held at the eleventh annual workshop entitled “New frontiers of infrastructure development – Technological innovation and international opportunities�? at the Auditorium Via Veneto in Rome.

The prize is promoted by “Management of Utilities and Infrastructure�? magazine and has been awarded to Snam CEO for skills demonstrated in the “management of delicate ownership unbundling from Eni in a perspective of interconnection of European gas networks�?.

After the ceremony, Malacarne took part to the round table entitled “Opportunities for development in the global infrastructure market�?, with participation from Franco Bassanini (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti), Ernesto Ferlenghi (Confindustria Russia), Riccardo Monti (ICE), Vittorio Ogliengo (Unicredit), moderated by professor Andrea Gilardoni from Bocconi University.

The event hosted discussions and comments about the 2014 Report on the costs of decision paralysis, promoted by Agici, which assesses economical, social and environmental effects of missed strategic infrastructure development in Italy. Several suggestions were made during the day, aimed at stimulating development of infrastructure through a simplification of procedures, a reorganization of authorization/realization processes and a redefinition of roles, including Companies, political system, public administration and financiers.
