PRI initiative: Snam is the best Italian company in the board directors appointment process

The study carried out by the PRI initiative on 7 markets worldwide rewards the transparency and compliance of the Company in the selection and appointment of its Board members


San Donato Milanese, 6 October 2014 - Snam has been recognized as the best Italian company for transparency and compliance in the Board directors appointment process, according to a study carried out by the United Nations through its Principles for Responsible Investment initiative (PRI), the network of institutional investors focusing on CSR principles in their investment decisions.


This recognition is the result of Snam’s ongoing alignment process to the most advanced international standards of corporate governance, and demonstrates the relevant results achieved by Snam in its relationship with institutional investors over the years.


The study, which also analyzed 6 other markets in addition to Italy - USA, Australia, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Canada - states how the selection of the directors of Snam fully complies with the PRI’s basic principles and international best practices with specific focus on the number of independent Board members, the respect for gender equality and the transparency of information about appointed directors.
