Snam’s smart working project “Next Working Day” starts

Snam has started a smart working project that allows employees to work outside the office one day a week. The first phase of the initiative, called “ Next Working Day”, involves over 600 people from the San Donato Milanese campus and Milan offices. Employees who join the project, which is on a voluntary basis, can choose a day of the week to work from home or from any other place that meets corporate health and safety standards. The project, addressed to staff and business units’ employees, will start after a trial period and gives the option to work out of the office also for only half a day.

Paola Boromei, Snam’s Human Resouces & Organization Executive Vice President, said: “This project contributes to the evolution of our organization and of our culture with the aim of always giving greater importance to people. We are convinced that a fairer workplace that takes into account individual needs can bring greater value to both employees and the company. Through smart working, Snam wants to allow its people to better reconcile personal and professional needs, and to work with greater autonomy and entrepreneurship”.

The initiative aims to introduce a smart office model able to improve work-life balance, reduce travel and support collaboration and communication among offices. For this purpose, Snam has enhanced its applications (i.e. remote intranet connection, instant messaging, audio-video inter-operativity) and evolved towards a “digital workplace” model.
