Snam opens its stations to 100 students to present its approach to sustainability
For Green Week, an initiative that is promoted by Italy Post and Buone Notizie - Corriere della Sera, on the 26th and 27th February, Snam hosted graduate and PHD students as part of the “ Fabbriche della sostenibilità” tour. Snam opened the doors of its stations and showcased the company’s approach to sustainability.
On the 26th the students had a tour at the Istrana compressor station whose purpose is to compress natural gas and distribute it through the importation pipelines from Russia thanks to four turbocompressors. The visit provided an occasion to demonstrate the station’s strategic role in guaranteeing energy security in Italy.
On the 27th there was a visit to the Principi di Porcia e Brugnera farm in Azzano Decimo where IES Biogas, a Snam Company specialised in building infrastructure to develop biogas and biomethane, built a plant that can produce 4.200.000 mc of biogas per year - without waste or odour that benefits both the environment and the community.
