COVID-19: SNAM’S PEOPLE LAUNCH A CAMPAIGN (“WE SHAPE THE FUTURE”) TO FUND SOLIDARITY INITIATIVES

Snam, together with Fondazione Snam and with the backing of its people, has launched a volountary campaign amongst employees, which aims to fund solidarity initiatives in the non-profit sector and other projects committed to supporting the members of the population who have been hit hardest by the COVID-19 emergency. The campaign has been named “We shape the future” (“Diamo forma al futuro”), which corresponds to one of Snam’s four values.

As part of the project, Snam’s executives, including CEO Marco Alverà and the top management team, will be able to commit to a reduction in remuneration for the period of May-December 2020, allowing the company to advance charitable initiatives.

In addition, managers will be able to donate days of annual leave to colleagues and the financial value of days of annual leave to organisations in the non-profit sector.

All of Snam’s employees will also be able to voluntarily contribute to the initiative by donating the value corresponding to one hour or more of their work through their paychecks.

The funds raised through the “We shape the future” campaign will be matched by the company and redirected to entities suggested by the employees.

The fundraising campaign builds on the existing initiatives launched by Snam and Fondazione Snam to support the health system and the non-profit sector in the COVID-19 emergency. The company has destined €20 million to the purchase of healthcare equipment (lung ventilators and surgical masks), to support 40 entities so far, committed to protecting the most vulnerable parts of the population, including the sick, the elderly, minors, the homeless and women victims of domestic violence, and to initiatives for the restart.
