Snam operates through its subsidiaries (Snam Rete Gas and Infrastrutture Trasporto Gas, Stogit and Gnl Italia), focused on the management and development of the following regulated businesses: transportation and dispatching, storage and regasification of natural gas. Snam is also active through the subsidiaries Snam4Mobility and TEP respectively in sustainable mobility and biomethane and in energy efficiency.
In relation to the subsidiaries, Snam plays a strategic role, direction, coordination and control and provides services to them.
Since seventy years Snam Rete Gas has been building and managing the infrastructure for the transmission of natural gas. In 2017 Snam completed the acquisition of 100% of the issued share capital of Infrastrutture Trasporto Gas (ITG).
With 9 operating storage sites located across Italy, Stogit is the largest European player in storage of natural gas.
Gnl Italia is active in the regasification of liquefied natural gas and operates the Panigaglia plant near La Spezia.
- SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY AND BIOMETHANE 100%
Snam4Mobility, through its subsidiaries Cubogas (100%), IES Biogas (70%) and Enersi Sicilia (100%), promotes the development of natural gas in the form of CNG (compressed natural gas), LNG (liquefied natural gas) and biomethane (100% renewable gas) as a clean, efficient and competitive fuel for light and heavy vehicles.
- ENERGY EFFICIENCY
In May 2018 Snam completed the acquisition of an 82% controlling stake in TEP Energy Solution, one of Italy’s leading enterprises in the energy efficiency sector.
