How can the world get to net zero CO2 emissions? We need new solutions – alongside renewable electricity – to decarbonize "hard-to-abate" sectors.

 

 

In this context, Snam – Europe’s largest regulated gas transport and storage business – held a major event on the 10th and 11th October 2019 in Rome, opened by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, focusing on the prospects for a Hydrogen Revolution and the ESG responsibility of companies.

As IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol – who spoke at the event – stressed, hydrogen is the most abundant and ubiquitous resource on our planet. The challenge therefore is to develop technology to scale-up a sustainable hydrogen economy and reduce its costs.
